Coaching Baseball Throwing
When coaching baseball players to throw, after introducing the grip it is important that they begin to see how the whole body is involved in making a strong throw. I’ve found that if you start with the fingers and wrists and work back, elbow, shoulder trunk etc., to the feet, most learn faster. To get the feel of how they work, isolate the wrist and apply the force with the fingers and wrist directly through the center of the ball so that it spins from 12 to 6 on a clock. The drill in this video is step one in the process of getting all of the available parts involved.
